clrmehppygrl's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On Needles and Blood Well, the physical went as well as it could, I suppose. My doctor is a really fabulous woman and really just puts you at ease as soon as she sees you. She's this little bubbly red-head with a North Carolina southern drawl. No matter how busy she is, she's always smiling, and she takes her time with you. You are the only thing she's worried about in that specific moment. I talked to her about everything. The sleepiness, the headaches, the seriously sucky PMS that I've been having. She brought up my thyroid and PMDD before I did, which was a good thing. I felt like she was really paying attention to what I was going through. Then came the giving of the blood part. *shudder* I don't really hate needles. We're more on a tolerance level of each other. But this time, it really hurt. My veins didn't want to cooperate at first, but they finally gave up after about 5 minutes of the needle being under my skin and jiggling around to try to hit paydirt. Now, I usually only give about 1/4 to 1/3 of one vial of blood when they take it from me. After that my vein collaspses in a general "oh, for fuck's sake". But today, apparently, they got a rather hearty vein and it gave the woman a total of FOUR effing vials. Needless to say I was a bit lightheaded after that. I didn't like the feeling, to be honest. I felt a lot like when I was having my son. A general dizziness and nausia. But I managed just fine. They're running three tests to check on my whole thyroid thing, and two other general tests to check me out.
